Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Technical or trade school training preferred. 6 years applicable installation, fabrication or related experience. Valid Driver’s License required. Other Ability to obtain Passport .

Position Purpose:

Independently performs a variety of aircraft Interior modifications and maintenance functions on AOG aircraft on road trips and in the Product Support organization. Duties may include assisting with advanced troubleshooting, removal and installations of airframes, landing gear, engine components, electrical components, control systems and any other maintenance requirements. Perform repairs on installations that require a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Must be available on an on-call basis, with the ability to be on site or dispatched on the FAST aircraft within two hours of the initial contact from Gulfstream. Must be able to communicate effectively with the customer, scheduling, FAST flight crews, Tech Ops, business office, vendors, Warranty, Field Service Representatives and Hangar Operations. Acts as the single point of contact between Gulfstream and the customer to correctly relay the aircraft schedule and return to service expectations.
  2. Perform technical functions such as correct methods of manufacturing, sequence of operations, and methodology of assemblies and installations, as well as detail components.
  3. Troubleshoot any problem areas in tooling, production, assembly, aircraft systems and operations, composites, etc., to determine cause and pursue preventative actions with proper liaison which improves production efficiency and product quality.
  4. Assist in problem solving to establish or correct planning methods for producing parts and using tooling efficiently by utilizing standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
  5. Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Control to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions.
  6. Properly identifies (tags) customer property and equipment. Stores aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
  7. Coordinates with Line Service and FBO operations to schedule movement of aircraft and assist with movement of aircraft. Also arranges, as needed, for the overhaul or repair of customer property and inspect/operate all interior installations and record discrepancies. Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate projects with other shops/departments as required.
  8. Provides regular updates on aircraft status and all customer support activity to Field Service Representative and management.
  9. Establishes and maintains a professional working relationship with the customer and provides one-on-one direct familiarization briefings with the customer during the road trip.

Additional Functions:
  1. Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement techniques. .
  2. Make and use simple patterns for own use employing standardized procedures. .
  3. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing procedures and specifications, plant safety, tooling, and quality requirements.
  2. Familiar with CATIA V5 and Solumina software.
  3. Must have an established track record of troubleshooting manufacturing or installation processes.
  4. Proficient knowledge of all applicable machinery and processes.
  5. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
