Unique Skills:
Required
- 15+ years of experience developing Data Networks or Avionics architectures for various platforms
- Broad experience and knowledge of aircraft systems and their functional and physical integration with other aircraft systems
- Working knowledge of guidance material (Advisory Circulars, etc.), current compliance paths and rule-making trends within the industry related to aircraft data networks and distributed computing
- Experience with cross functional development and critical analysis, with organizations internal and external of Engineering and Gulfstream (Flight Test, Program Management, Suppliers, etc.)
Preferred
- Participates in industry working groups associated with Data Networks, Avionics or distributed computing including SAE AS-1 or equivalent
- Innovative thought, design and build including patents, working prototyping, modeling and/or hardware/software integration at the supplier or OEM level
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversight of current and future aircraft data networks activities for all Gulfstream aircraft models
- Champion new development of aircraft system architectures, development processes and tools for future Gulfstream products
- Develop strategic initiatives that support Gulfstream's objectives, including technology for future platforms
- Provide mentorship to Electrical Systems Engineers to increase overall competency in aircraft data networks and distributed computing, including analysis, troubleshooting, utilization and development
