Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 4 years DEI experience or other related experience.

Position Purpose:

The Sr. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Specialist develops and implements programs to align key workforce and corporate employee inclusion and engagement initiatives through the development and management of the ERG program and organizational development interventions that align with the diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Serve as Employee Resource Group ambassador to company, Executive DEI Council, and other stakeholders promoting the ERG value proposition to better connect with customers and future employees.
  2. Ensure ERG efforts and goals are aligned to the broader DEI strategy; identify synergies to amplify the effectiveness of ERG events and initiatives. Contribute to annual DEI strategy sessions, leading ERG segments, as needed. .
  3. Research and define initiatives to address opportunities for program development. Support ERG leaders in the development and implementation of annual strategic plans in alignment with their budgets.

  4. Manage and enhance ERG membership database and define key metrics for success, performance scorecard, and provide other metrics as needed to provide relevant data, analysis, and recommendations. .
  5. Build trust and create strong relationships between ERG Leaders, Centers of Excellence Leaders, Senior Leadership, and other partners within the organization to develop and execute strategies for retention, engagement, and promotion of diverse talent.
  6. Onboard new ERG Leaders and Executive sponsors in New Leader Onboarding. .
  7. Plan and execute annual Employee Resource Group Leadership Forum. .
  8. Facilitate recurring touchpoints amongst GD (General Dynamics) ERG Leaders to share best practices and understand opportunity areas which require additional support. .
  9. Enhance ERG application process; develop and launch new ERGs. .
  10. Serve as ERG brand ambassador by developing internal employee messaging in partnership with HR (Human Resources) Employee Communications; identify effective ways to recognize the notable contributions of ERG Leaders. .
  11. Partner with HR Talent Acquisition and Workforce Development to increase ERG engagement in recruitment activities, ensuring we are connecting with candidates and demonstrating the full potential of Gulfstream .
  12. Facilitates team building workshops, exercises, or programs to enhance the cohesiveness of teams. Create and monitor annual development curriculum for ERG leaders .
  13. Develop an external network to further knowledge and awareness of industry trends which can in turn influence and facilitate organizational change .
  14. Collaborate with Employee Resource Group leadership, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and HR Business Partners to develop and execute strategies for retention, engagement, and promotion of diverse talent . .

Additional Functions:
  1. Act as a project manager for other assigned projects that support DEI goals and objectives .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software and project management software.
  2. Exceptional consulting and project management skills.
  3. Strong conflict resolution, change management, public speaking and facilitation skills required.
  4. Ability to interface and influence both internal and external audiences including leaders at all levels.
