Role Focus
The Senior Manager will serve as Procurement’s primary technical‑commercial authority for Flight Systems, accountable for:
1. Complex Proposal Leadership
- Act as the principal evaluator of cost, schedule, and technical elements for Honeywell and other avionics suppliers, ensuring proposals fully support program and technical objectives.
2. Early Technical Integration
- Partner with Engineering and Programs to assess technical maturity, design realism, manufacturability, and risk—impacting sourcing strategy before design is locked.
3. Subject Matter Expertise for Avionics
- Lead technical assessments, competitive analysis, feasibility reviews, and supplier capability evaluations for avionics, flight controls, sensors, displays, and related systems.
4. Risk Mitigation & Strategic Guidance
- Anticipate integration challenges and design risks associated with flight deck changes, avionics block updates, and new product features, enabling proactive mitigation.
5. Talent Development & Capability Building
- Develop training programs for avionics and product development processes. Mentor and upskill the Senior Procurement Specialist to strengthen long‑term team capability.

- Develops sources of supply and obtains information from suppliers concerning product specifications, price, delivery dates, etc. and ensures all applicable data is current at seller .
- Negotiates optimum delivery schedules and ensures best combination of price, quantity discount, product quality, standard terms and conditions; communicates with departments such as Program Office, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Planning, Product Support and/or Legal to ensure their requirements are met .
- Writes and administers definitive purchase orders, including terms and conditions, and enters into contracts with suppliers within budgetary limitations .
- Monitors supplier performance and prepares reports and other records pertaining to items purchased, cost, delivery, product performance, and/or inventories .
- Supports purchasing and sourcing activities and directs department quality control procedures .
- Manages direct strategic category relationships including execution against contractual requirements, new product introductions and continued business development .
- Manages existing supplier agreements and establishing and executing strategies for the sourcing and development of new suppliers .
- Manages project risk to ensure accurate supplier and material costs are utilized and represents procurement in Sourcing Strategy meetings .
- Coordinates purchasing objectives with all related company functions .
- Performs material tracing functions for all purchased items including action to achieve acceptable delivery, as well as constant current status of purchased parts at the supplier .
- Responsible to proactively assess, manage, and mitigate risk in their assigned supply chain to ensure continuity of supply .
- Utilizes continuous improvement and best practices to drive results .
- Ensure accurate and meaningful communication flow between leadership and team to ensure alignment .
- Conduct regular contribution and development discussions (end-of-year and 1:1) and supports development investment for all team members .
- Establish & cascade departmental goals aligned with organizational goals .
- Significant expertise in dealing with complex procurements.
- Detailed knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
