What You Will Do

As a Repair Station Inspector A&P - Avionics, you will support avionics upgrade and modification programs by ensuring aircraft inspections, installations, and documentation meet Gulfstream, FAA, and applicable foreign regulatory requirements. Working closely with avionics installation teams, you will help deliver safe, compliant, and airworthy aircraft.

  • Perform Quality Control inspections of avionics installations, modifications, repairs, and alterations on aircraft and aircraft components.
  • Inspect avionics upgrade projects, including STC and MRA modifications, ensuring work complies with approved engineering and regulatory data.
  • Review and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, 3D models, and installation documentation to verify conformity and workmanship.
  • Validate configuration changes, drawing revisions, and approval substantiation to ensure regulatory compliance throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate inspection, electrical, and maintenance requirements with production teams during aircraft modification activities.
  • Conduct audits of maintenance and inspection records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely return-to-service documentation.
  • Verify aircraft and components meet FAA, CAA, and company airworthiness requirements prior to flight activities.
  • Maintain accurate, legible inspection records and support the production of complete aircraft documentation packages.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to technicians regarding documentation practices and quality standards.
  • Support Quality Assurance initiatives and provide technical assistance related to regulatory and certification requirements.

 

What You Will Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required.
  • Six (6) years of aviation maintenance experience in avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical systems.
  • Strong electrical systems knowledge, including the ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Experience reviewing engineering documentation, revisions, and compliance records.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply shop mathematics.
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to work from elevated platforms, lifts, ladders, and stands.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience supporting aircraft certification, STC, or modification programs is preferred.

Unique Skills:

Avionics Install Inspector first shift Mon-Thur 0600-1430. 

This position will support the avionics install teams with aircraft upgrades including STC and MRA projects to include FAA and Foreign registered aircraft.  Candidate must have strong electrical background to include reading wiring diagrams and 3D models.  A thorough ability to comprehend nad manage drawing revisions and approval substantiations.  An understanding of certification path and projects is very helpful.  Must be able to work from elevated positions to include stands, lifts, ladders, etc.  Must be able to work in confined spaces periodically.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 6 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical). A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

Position Purpose:

Performs inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards of quality, and that aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required. documentation properly completed and filed. Works as an integral part of the Quality Control/Assurance team assuring aircraft/components are in compliance to FAA/CAA requirements.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components .
  2. Completes inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data .
  3. Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting .
  4. Keeps accurate, neat and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components .
  5. Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner .
  6. Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service .
  7. Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities .
  8. Mentors technicians on effective documentation .

Additional Functions:
  1. Communicates with management as required. to identify work assignments and delivery schedules .
  2. Provides technical support to inspection personnel in supporting the FAA and/or CAA documented requirements .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Strong computer skills.
  2. Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics and QC Procedures.
  3. Working knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  4. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
