Gulfstream is seeking a Quality Supervisor – Powerplant to support operations at GAC Savannah. This role provides leadership and technical oversight for quality assurance and inspection activities supporting aircraft engines, APUs, and powerplant systems in a highly regulated aerospace environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and supervise quality and inspection personnel to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, FAA and FAR requirements, and company policies for powerplant systems
- Oversee inspection and return‑to‑service activities for aircraft engines, APUs, nacelles, thrust reversers, and related components
- Translate FAA and AS9100 requirements into clear expectations for internal teams and external powerplant suppliers and repair stations
- Review and approve FAA and FAR documentation, including Airworthiness Directives, Inspection Requirements, and service bulletins related to powerplant systems
- Lead supplier and internal investigations involving powerplant quality escapes, engine removals, and repeat findings using structured root‑cause and corrective action methodologies
- Conduct supplier risk assessments, process audits, and production readiness evaluations for powerplant manufacturers and MROs
- Communicate powerplant quality risk, performance, and recovery plans to cross‑functional teams and leadership
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve powerplant quality, reliability, cost, and schedule performance while supporting in‑house and off‑site maintenance events
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Sciences, Quality Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Eight years of progressive, related technical experience in aerospace or powerplant quality or aircraft maintenance
- Working knowledge of FAA, FAR, and AS9100 requirements with direct application to aircraft engines and powerplant systems
- Strong technical understanding of powerplant maintenance, inspection, and manufacturing processes
- Proven leadership ability with experience guiding teams, influencing cross‑functional partners, and driving supplier performance improvement

- Supervises assigned personnel ensuring compliance to the Quality Management System, current FAA and/or FAR regulatory requirements and the company policy.
- Assists in the development and implementation of plans to improve quality.
- Reviews and approves FAA and/or FAR paperwork and correspondence (e.g. FAA Advisory Circulars, Airworthiness Directives, Inspection Requirements, Aircraft Service Changes & Customer Bulletins).
- Monitors quality inspection and Return to Service functions.
- Coordinates scheduling and manpower assignments for subordinate personnel and determines equipment requirements. .
- Explains and reinforces the company/site values and goals to departmental employees with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
- Promotes, encourages and participates in positive and open communication.
- Conducts personnel performance appraisals and addresses personnel performance.
- Provides training, technical guidance and direction to subordinate level personnel. .
- Identifies and manages Lean Six Sigma initiatives. Oversees continuous improvement initiatives to improve cost, schedule and quality of processes.
- Provides appropriate departmental support for both in house and road trip scheduled/unscheduled maintenance events. .
- Ensures customer service satisfaction through timely/accurate completion of all paperwork requirements.
- Aggressively manages departmental safety programs in compliance with existing safety regulations.
- Ensures compliance to budget targets and time keeping policies.
- Coordinates documentation projects and activities between applicable Gulfstream facilities.
