Highly Desired Attributes:

  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing/Planning, or related roles
  • Experience with Gulfstream electronic systems (SAP, Solumina, SmarTeam, AIR, Catia)
  • Familiarity with engineering change implementation process
  • Familiarity with FAI and Conformity inspection requirements
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR regulations for production under PC
  • Experience with:
    • Quality Control Inspection Planning

OR

    • Familiarity with Aircraft Manufacture and Assembly

OR

    • Experience with Quality Management Systems and Control

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

High School Diploma or GED required. 6 years quality assurance/control, manufacturing operations, maintenance and/or military operations experience is required.. Aerospace industry experience preferred..

Position Purpose:

A Quality Assurance Technician III works with senior Quality Assurance personnel to develop and maintain optimum methods of controlling quality and /or reliability of product or service in assigned areas such as: statistical methods, tooling and gaging, inspection methods, and program planning. Responsible for providing technical support through means of investigations on known Quality issues. Implement plans and instructions in support of departmental policies. The QA Tech will work with senior Quality Assurance personnel determine Root cause and corrective action for known Quality issues using the 8D methodology and validated by the audit group. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and develops and promotes a good working relationship with local regulatory authorities. Ensures a safe, conforming and quality product is delivered to our customers.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Work with senior Quality Assurance personnel to develop quality methods required. for the product or service of the area.
  2. Revise department procedures and instructions as required. by senior Quality Assurance personnel to implement quality control requirements.
  3. Assist in the Review Test and Assembly Documentation. Review new and revised Blue Prints.
  4. Recommend revision or modification of systems, methods and techniques necessary to maintain or improve quality and/or reliability.
  5. Responsible for technical direction of activities in one or more areas of the Quality Assurance Department.
  6. Write and review both internal and external Corrective Actions.
  7. Follow-up on Corrective Action implementation.
  8. Participate in and lead audits and improvement workshops.
  9. Assure that the investigations on Quality issues are conducted according to department procedures and work instructions.
  10. Actively identify and complete process improvement projects related to achieving improved quality or efficiency of Quality processes.
  11. Interrogate data and prepares analysis or associated documentation.
  12. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction (internal and external customers).
  13. Work with other departments and/or disciplines.
  14. Promote and encourage a continuous improvement culture.

Additional Functions:
  1. Support the operating priorities as identified by the Quality leadership team. .
  2. May support other areas of Quality. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) standard ASME Y14.5 preferred.
  2. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  3. Working knowledge of Statistical tools used for problem resolution.
  4. Lean/Six Sigma certification as a Green belt preferred.
  5. Knowledge of manufacturing and/or maintenance processes (i.e. Assembly, Machining, Special Process, Inspection, etc.).
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  7. Proficient computer skills.
