About Our Group

 Our procurement team is a critical component in ensuring the that our manufacturing teams have the supplies to produce on time quality airplanes for our customers. Procurement roles are ideal for people who enjoy developing strong relationships, managing complex situations, and are very strategic. All our teams focus on different spaces in direct and indirect procurement. In this role, we are actively recruiting for the Customer Support Team. The Customer Support team supports our customers who have aircraft in service.  The Purchasing Manager for this role will be managing a team within in our Procurement Customer Support procurement group. This team supports our Service Centers across the globe in the purchasing of parts and materials for these service centers. Customer Support enables us to deliver quality service to the maintenance of customers' aircraft. 

 

We have two roles open within the group. Candidates selected to fill the role will manage personnel of about 15-20. The purchasing manager will be  responsible for mulitple commodities (e.g. landing gear, wheels and brakes, flight controls, and/or avionics). Specific commodiities will be determined at time of hire. 

 

 About the Role

  • Effective mentor and develop a team of direct reports (Supervisors) and indirect reports (Buyers, Procurement Specialists, Procurement Project Managers)
  • Ability to identify issues within the supply chain and develop solutions to the resolve the issues. 
  • Experience in aftermarket purchasing or aerospace is highly desired. 

 

 

 

 

Aerospace, aftermarket, and/or manufacturing experience preferred.

 

 


 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Master's Degree preferred. 10 years related procurement and contract experience to include at least five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience or progressive procurement experience. Supervisory experience preferred..

Position Purpose:

Under minimal supervision, manages and coordinates all activities involved in the purchase of aircraft components and/or non-aircraft required. supplies and services within his/her assigned area of responsibility in accordance with the required. delivery date and applicable quality requirements, company policies and procedures. Ensures achievement of Corporate and organizational goals.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Manages all activities within assigned Purchasing Department.
  2. Reviews, approves and participates in the development of negotiation strategies and negotiation of major contracts involving equipment, materials and services and ensure appropriate administration of contracts.
  3. Reviews and approves award of agreements and purchase orders which exceed the buyers signature authorization level, and reviews and concurs in awards which exceed his/her signature authorization level, or rejects either for correction and/or addition of essential documentation. .
  4. Develops recommendations for and monitors progress toward timely support of program requirements, internal customer required. need dates, departmental budget constraints, revenue targets and other objectives.
  5. Responsible for the selection, development, and retention of subcontract administrators, buyers and procurement support staff. .
  6. Serves as a liaison between purchasing and financial management, cost analysis, engineering, program management, legal, manufacturing and other internal customers, as required.
  7. Prepares reports, develops and maintains metrics for the departments performance and ensures maintenance of appropriate records. .
  8. Develops, implements and monitors programs to minimize life cycle costs, optimize inventory, ensure quality and reliability, maintain Lean Manufacturing initiatives, support implementation of material initiatives, and initiate and implement corporate-wide agreements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Significant expertise in dealing with complex procurements.
  2. Detailed knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques.
  3. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
