Position Purpose:

As an integral part of the team, this role is responsible for contributing to the execution of the worldwide communications strategy for Gulfstream.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Assist in the development and execution of the company’s worldwide communications strategy, including message development .
  2. Develop content, such as news releases, key messages, talking points and speeches, for air shows and media events as well as print, digital and social media (as needed).
  3. Serve as the on-site communications representative at select air shows and events in support of the company’s worldwide communications strategy .
  4. Respond thoughtfully and consistently to media requests .
  5. Secure reviews and approvals prior to message dissemination .
  6. Forge and maintain strong reporter relationships with local media at each of the company’s sites as well as aviation trade, business and lifestyle media .
  7. Serve as communications liaison to one or more departments, providing communications guidance and services to those departments, with the supervision of the director and and assistance of other communications personnel .
  8. Provide strategic communications counsel to other departments within Gulfstream to ensure consistent brand messaging .
  9. Pitch story ideas that advance the company’s strategic business priorities and key messages .
  10. Collaborate with other Gulfstream teams, including Marketing Communications, Customer Communications, Employee Communications, Sales, Community Investment and Public Affairs .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Proven experience securing earned media impressions in lifestyle and design media.
  2. Track record of using metrics to assess success of efforts and the ability to nimbly shift the strategy based on metrics feedback.
  3. Excellent writing, editing and speaking skills.
  4. Knowledge of Associated Press Style.
  5. Ability to take complex technical information and translate it into interesting yet straight-forward content suitable for use by media and other key influencers.
  6. Proven performance working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  7. Effective project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Ability to handle media inquiries and provide communications counsel to leaders and peers.
  9. Experience in executive communications.
  10. Strong organizational skills.
  11. Strong news judgment and analytical skills.
