Lead Flammability Technician in  GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

Undestanding of EHS requirements/controls for finish booth and UV applications.

Extensive knowledge of GAC finish & process specifications preferred.

Extensive knowledge of GAC flammability testing requirements preferred.

Strong ability to multi-task & maintain multiple high level priorities.

Strong ability to coordinate & manage cross site finish activities.

Strong CDM, CTS, SAP & MS office skills preferred.


 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 9 years aircraft/component inspection experience to include seven (7) years experience with aircraft flammability testing/compliance or manufacturing assets substantiated with flammability data. Commanding knowledge of FARs 25, and knowledge of ODA/FAA Conformity requirements. Technical School or Degree preferred. Other CD, DQR or GA stamp preferred. Other IAR preferred.

Position Purpose:

The Flammability Technician Lead physically inspects, test and reviews related paperwork to ensure that flammability of materials used in the aircraft during completion interior installation meet acceptable standards and compliance guidelines. In addition, Flammability Technician Lead performs conformity as an ODA IAR on test articles, when authorized. The Flammability Technician Lead Inspector contributes directly to the training and evaluation of individuals within the group.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and leading Flammability Technicians .
  2. Communicates with management as required. to identify work assignments and delivery schedules .
  3. Monitors the performance of Flammability Technicians, provides training and guidance, and provides input for individual performance reviews .
  4. Ensures testing/inspection requirements are coordinated between departments .
  5. Ensure periodic audits of documentation for accuracy and completion are conducted .
  6. Monitors all department calibrated tools and test equipment for current calibration. Submit changes for any Technical data found discrepant .

Additional Functions:
  1. Works closely with the CI/QCM and FAA Officials to achieve airworthiness and certification goals .
  2. Coordinates activities to ensure reports/test results produced in a timely manner .
  3. Ensures all records are accurate, neat and legible .
  4. May perform IAR Duties as needed, if authorized .
