Lab Test Simulation Integration Engineer - Tech Spec II in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and integrating real‑time simulation systems (e.g., dSPACE, ADI, NI, Speedgoat) with aircraft hardware/software in Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) environments.
- Proficiency in Simulink for model development, simulation, and system integration.
- Experience using Python or other high‑level programming languages to create automated test scripts, testing utilities, and lab support tools.
- Strong ability to interpret and work from aircraft and simulation electrical drawings.
- Hands‑on experience integrating simulation hardware I/O—including analog, discrete, data bus, and Ethernet interfaces—with aircraft controllers and third‑party simulation platforms.
- Working knowledge of standard aircraft industry data and communication protocols such as ARINC 429, ARINC 664, RS‑485, and related interfaces.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support a customer‑facing lab environment by addressing requests for new functionality, assisting test engineers, and troubleshooting aircraft or lab system issues.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, rapidly evolving, or dynamic development environments.
- High level of comfort and motivation working in a lab setting, with an expectation to spend approximately 80% of time on‑site.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering preferred; candidates with Electrical or Computer Engineering degrees who possess relevant aircraft and simulation experience will also be considered.
- Possession of a pilot license is considered a strong plus.
