The Lab Test organization is seeking an innovative and motivated individual to kick-start an endeavor to revitalize the Lab Test configuration/change management of our 15+ Lab Test Articles. This new role will interact with many different business units across Gulfstream to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of the test asset configuration and change management. We are seeking a detail oriented individual with a wide variety of experience.
Desired and applicable experience areas may include:
- Integrated Aircraft System Lab Test or Bench
- Aircraft/Labs Configuration(s); SWCDs, ACB; Data Management;
- Serena Business Manager or other
- Configuration Boards (BCCB, PCMT)
- Engineering Change Requests; Change Management Processes
- Quality Control/Assurance Processes and Procedures; Quality Manual
- Systems Engineering
- Design Engineering
- Working Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems
- Certification and Regulatory Authority Audits
- PDM/PLM Systems (Siemens Team Center)
- Verification and Validation Activities
- Understanding and knowledge of real-time simulations and their different configurations (HW/SW);
- Lab Testing and Systems Integration
Job Description
The Lab Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for validation of lab configuration and lab configuration change requests by performing the following functions:
Collaborates with: Engineering (Lab Test & A/C system SME), Operations (Lab Test), System Integration, Lab Test Engineers, Lab Materials Processes/Applications to support:
- Re-design the Config Mgmt System with support from Labs & A/C Config/Integration team. Document the process inside Engineering Processes.
- Support with Lab Change Requests (LCRs): Timeline, Validation, Coordination (Liaison between engineering & Labs)
- Create & support the Config Change Board tasks by reviewing LCRs and Problem Reports (PRs) to be implemented in the lab per a schedule of test/program needs
- Support between groups (LTEs, System Integration, and Lab Test Operations) for configuration needs (when to cut in updates to SW and HW)
- Support Aircraft Configuration Build (ACB) alignment (where needed depending on the state of the lab/program)
- Support deviations and justifications needed when going through conformity
- Track ECRs for the aircraft programs and write Lab PRs to create updates based on the need of the customer engineers
- Authorize part moves in a digital log between labs or other
- Attend BCCB and PCMT on behalf of Labs
- Along with Operations Quality Inspector – Validate the Lab Configuration and/or request
- Support Configuration Boards and associated reviews necessary to determine impact of proposed engineering changes
- Adhere to Configuration & data related procedures and policies throughout a program/product lifecycle
- Support Regulatory Authority Audits, Conformities, etc. on an as required basis
- Embrace and integrate new CPLM system within Configuration/Change Management plan
- Familiarity in Validation and Verifications activities
- CMII or EIA-649 certification

- Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
- The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
