Flight Test Engineer Technical Specialist II in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
This position requires a self-motivated engineer to fulfill responsibilities including analysis of flight test data, conducting on-aircraft flight testing, and strong technical writing competence. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical foundation in an engineering discipline, coupled with a keen sense of curiosity and adept problem-solving skills. Initiative, assertiveness, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are some of the key attributes of a successful candidate.
The applicant must be demonstrably proficient in-flight testing in one or more of the following areas:
- Aircraft performance, handling qualities, flight control systems, flutter, aircraft loads, or aerodynamics
- Avionics
- Electrical systems
- Powerplant
- Mechanical systems
Required attribute (knockout questions):
- Experience writing flight test plans and/or flight test reports
Highly Desired Attributes:
- At least 7-years of Flight Test engineering experience
- Experience with:
- Aircraft performance, handling qualities, flight control systems, flutter, aircraft loads, or aerodynamics
Or
-
- Familiarity with a variety of aircraft avionics systems
Or
-
- Experience with aircraft gas turbine engines
Or
-
- Experience with aircraft mechanical systems (hydraulics, brakes, doors, etc.)
Or
-
- Experience with aircraft environmental systems
- Experience with MATLAB or Python
- Experience with data analysis
Desired Attributes:
- Experience deriving instrumentation requirements for on-aircraft flight testing
- Experience with 14 CFR Part 23 or Part 25 regulations
- Candidate with Pilot experience
- Experience with Honeywell Epic for Gulfstream Symmetry or PlaneView
- Experience with IADS or any real-time data monitoring systems

- Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.
- The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
