The candidate should demonstrate extensive experience designing and leading executive protection programs for senior leaders, including threat assessments, travel security, event security, and crisis response. They should be able to think strategically rather than simply execute tactical security measures.
 
Because the role involves direct interaction with senior leadership team members and external stakeholders, the candidate must exhibit exceptional discretion, confidentiality, communication skills, and the ability to build trust with leadership.
 
An ideal candidate for this role combines deep security expertise with strong leadership, strategic thinking, sound judgment, and the executive presence necessary to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.


 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 8 years related experience within Security, Law Enforcement, or Emergency Management. 2 years prior experience in corporate security environment strongly preferred..

Position Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Executive Protection is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and execution of Gulfstream's global executive protection program. This position oversees all aspects of executive security operations, protective intelligence, travel risk management, and protective logistics for senior executives and other designated personnel.

The role requires a seasoned security professional who can lead complex domestic and international protection operations, manage cross-functional teams and vendors, and provide executive-level guidance on security risks while ensuring the safety, security, and continuity of executive travel, executive participation at events, and daily activities.

While the position has overall responsibility for managing executive protection resources and operations, it is also a hands-on role that requires the incumbent to personally perform executive protection duties, conduct advance work, accompany executives during travel, and execute protective operations when staffing levels, operational requirements, or security considerations do not allow for delegation.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Personally execute executive protection assignments, protective advances, travel support, and protective detail responsibilities when operational requirements necessitate direct involvement .
  2. Serve as both a strategic leader and operational practitioner, maintaining proficiency in all executive protection functions and remaining deployable for domestic and international assignments .
  3. Provide close protection coverage for senior executives during travel, meetings, special events, and other activities as required.
  4. Conduct site surveys, route assessments, and security advances in support of executive movements and events .
  5. Maintain operational readiness and certification standards necessary to perform all aspects of executive protection duties .
  6. Able to represent Gulfstream as member of US Government sanctioned/Law Enforcement working groups .

Additional Functions:
  1. This position is a working leadership role and requires the ability to personally perform executive protection functions in addition to managerial responsibilities .
  2. Must maintain the physical capabilities, travel readiness, and professional qualifications necessary to execute protective assignments and support executive travel as needed .
  3. Must be capable of responding to short-notice assignments and deploying in support of executive protection operations worldwide .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Proven experience working with local, state and federal regulations and nationally recognized standards.
  2. Experience in leading teams responsible for an executive protection mission.
  3. Experience conducting physical security surveys, audits, threat assessments, and compiling/creating detailed reports.
  4. Experience dealing with cultural sensitivities, language barriers, interpreters and security issues in an international setting.
  5. Heavy international travel is required. for this role.
  6. Additional Certifications may be required. based on area of responsibility.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
