Crew & Equipment Design Engineer - Technical Specialist II in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
Combined engineering team of Crew & Equipment and Doors, covering all Gulfstream programs including current large cabin aircraft (G400/G500/G600/G700/G800), special missions, and new product development.
- Range of duties includes design, certification & qualification, supplier coordination, test/rigging specification definition, on-wing investigations, and testing.
Position is focused on Crew & Equipment but candidate will also have opportunities in Doors.- Crew & Equipment includes all electrical equipment installations throughout the aircraft (flight deck, racks, underfloor, baggage & tail compartments, lights, cameras, antennas), associated secondary structure, crew seats, cabin insulation, flammability, placarding, closeouts, and several control handles/cables.
- Doors includes all Door systems on the aircraft (main entry, overwing emergency, landing gear, baggage, service, acoustic, egress hatch) and related components (controllers, actuators, dampers, reels, latches, handles, seals).
- Cohesive team with great interpersonal dynamics, efficient ethos, mentorship culture, flexibility, and career/skills development support. Strong reputation for effective, strategic, and efficient impact over a multitude of projects. Regular interaction with senior staff/leadership, manufacturing, service centers, and lab & flight test to achieve goals.
- Required experience:
- 3D CAD design
- Technical writing
- Mechanical systems experience at an aircraft OEM
- Preferred experience:
- Supplier joint design and component qualification
- Catia V5 and SmarTeam or Teamcenter
- Composites
- Surfacing and part design
- Project management
- GD&T
- FAA Part 25 certification
