Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, design, analysis, and liaison engineering activities for the development and production of Gulfstream products and services.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and execution of key engineering projects.
  • Provide specialized technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Apply advanced engineering methods and extend existing theories to develop solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Independently determine and execute approaches to meet schedule and cost objectives.
  • Perform work under limited supervision, with review focused on accuracy and alignment with overall objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve processes and ensure all deliverables meet customer and program requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and recommend innovations to enhance product quality and effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, plus 5 years of experience as a Stress Engineer or in a related role.
  • At least 3 years of experience in stress analysis of aircraft interior furnishings, including both metallic and composite structures.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience analyzing interior components, including bulkheads, galleys, closets, lavatories, credenzas, vanities, and ledge/dado panels.
  • At least 3 years of experience using FEMAP and performing classical hand calculations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience reviewing engineering drawings and supporting workflow timelines to meet engineering release and aircraft delivery schedules.
  • At least 3 years of experience collaborating with Structural Authorized Representatives (AR) to support Supplemental Type Certification (STC), including:
    • Preparing structural substantiation reports
    • Ensuring compliance with 14 CFR Part 25 regulations
    • Demonstrating working knowledge of Part 25 certification requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in preliminary design, supporting early definition and Front Load Certification activities.

Education Substitution

  • Master’s degree in Engineering with 3 years of the required experience, or
  • Ph.D. in Engineering with 1 year of the required experience,
    may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience.
 

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 ys in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

  1. Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects .
  2. Provides specialized technical assistance to team members .
  3. Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems .
  4. Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives .
  5. Works under limited supervision; work should only be required. to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives .
  6. Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area .

Additional Functions:
  1. Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
  2. Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
  2. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
