Business Assurance Specialist

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management or in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years in business continuity development and/or emergency management role. Other Professional certification in Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery preferred.

Position Purpose:

With minimal supervision, sustain the revision process to the overall business assurance plan (BCP) and with the development and implementation of the BCP exercise plan. Business assurance planning includes risk management, business impact analysis, strategy development, plan development, testing and maintenance to enable Gulfstream to respond to a business interruption. This position will be directly responsible for the management of the program for all Gulfstream locations.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for the revision process for the Business Impact Analysis in each business unit. Determine critical processes, recovery time and recovery point objectives, and resource requirements for a successful recovery in the event of a business disruption .
2. Lead each business units to develop and revise the business recovery procedures ensuring that plans satisfy business, legal and regulatory requirements .
3. Develop and sustain the Crisis Management training program .
4. Implement table-top exercises for validating the business continuity plans .
5. Responsible for the development of the employee business assurance awareness training materials .
6. Responsible for the project coordination amongst leadership for information technology, EHS, Security and business leaders to provide a well executed and integrated Business Assurance program .
7. Lead all Gulfstream Facilities Emergency Response Plans and Crisis Management Teams and related exercises .
8. Streamline the collection and maintenance of the Business Impact Analysis data. Analyze data to help identify financial and non-financial impacts of an outage for individual functional areas .
9. Coordinate with Business Technology to develop requirements within the BT disaster recovery team .
10. Provide routine leadership updates regarding business assurance trends and future strategies .
11. Develop and provide recommendations to improve the current business continuity strategy in collaboration with asset management .
12. Oversee and coordinate efforts associated with Emergency Planning Events for all Gulfstream Sites .
13. Provide guidance and support to various management and functional business units in the event of a business disruptions .
14. Provide expertise and training for system to manage the process for the business continuity plan, additions and changes, using existing central data system .
15. Manage third party provider to perform business assurance impact analysis and to maintain program for all sites .

Additional Functions:

1. Occasional travel required. .

Other Requirements:

1. Experience in an all-hazard recovery planning preferred.
2. Familiar with Business Continuity concepts and the fundamentals of Business Continuity Mgmt or functional recovery operations.
3. Familiar with Data Protection requirements or Disaster Recovery relative to IT.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
5. Must have strong project management, analytical and organization skills.
6. Ability to coordinate cross functional teams and interface across multiple sites.
