Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job or 18 months specific certification experience or related Engineering experience. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Position Purpose:
Works under minimal supervision to perform a variety of engineering and supportive tasks associated with the Mechanical Systems/Seats/Structures/Interior Arrangement/Electrical Systems Certification team. This position provides primary certification support for the new development of sustained business jet completions (outfitting) programs. In this role you will review engineering workflows assigned to your designated Certification team, assist in the development of compliance data, testing documents, analysis, and reports in support of required FAA (ODA EAR) approval. Familiar with CATIA V5, SmarTeam, and MS Office Applications. Support development meetings and provide certification input. Work with outfitting organizations such as Design teams, Operations, Quality and Certification teams as required to meet objectives. Must be capable of working independently and as a cohesive member of a team.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and develops certification deliverables; request for conformity (RFC), means of compliance, reports and other documentation as required.
- Assists in reviewing certification deliverables to compare compliance checklist, compliance showing, and 8100-9 finding.
- Demonstrates creativity, and the ability to work with the team to solve complex engineering problems, determining program objectives and requirements, and in developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
- Responsible for an important segment of the engineering program with extensive and diversified engineering requirements.
- Works with their assigned team to ensure that all certification deliverables and schedule are achieved.
- Adhere to Gulfstream safety rules and procedures.
- Apply Gulfstream regulations and policies to daily business activities.
- Weekend and overtime work as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
Familiarity with supplemental type certification projects and major repair alterations and how they relate to Gulfstream aircraft design and system interfaces, means of compliance, and certification testing process and deliverables.

Job Description
- Prepares and develops simple certification plans describing the project scope, certification deliverables, means of compliance, and test/conformity requirements.
- Assists in reviewing certification deliverables to compare compliance checklist, compliance showing, and 8100-9 finding.
- Prepares TIA pre-requisites, draft TIA, and open projects/open PR memo.
- Assists in preparing Summary Compliance Reports.
- Creates and maintains Project File for programs as assigned.
- Creates and submits correspondence with regulatory authorities as assigned.
- Assists with FCAA validations including application & classification, SSD & SEI effectivity, meeting agendas & coordination, presentation generation & review, validation work plan development.
- Familiarity with Phases of TC or post-TC certification project and the associated FAA Orders, ODA Procedures Manual, Part 25 subparts and how they relate to Gulfstream aircraft design and system interfaces, means of compliance, and certification testing process and deliverables.
- Awareness of supporting policy and advisory material associated with Part 25 regulations, major/minor changes process, Part 91 and Part 135 equipment requirements, FAA Order for validations and Implementation Procedures for EASA, Brazil, Canada and China, and FCAA regulations.
