Main tasks
Manage a team of material planning specialist to assure inventories and planned deliveries are aligned to support production, completions and spares requirements.
Coordinate teamwork with diverse Savannah and Mexicali teams such as Procurement, Supplier Quality, Materials and Operations among others to assure site goals are meet.
Prepares/presents information to upper management & general manager
Active participation on CFT & Strategic business unit meetings to support high priority projects.
Follow up plans and programs established; verifying priorities and making changes if need it. Reviews, develops, analyzes reports, forecasts and metric information to take appropriate action. Support resolution of un-planned situations related to material planning and production scheduling. (such as rate changes internal plans, NOE’s, etc)
Support change management boards to incorporate engineering changes, preventing materials shortages, obsolete inventory, etc.
Foster continuous improvements within his team and Materials Planning group as a whole.
Performs 1-1 sessions with team members and conducts development discussions.
Knowledge:
Professional degree.
At least 5 years of experience working in Materials Planning functions
MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft Office Excel, Power Point, Word.
Experience in managing Discrete, Min Max & VMI planning environments.
Perform/validate complex calculations and coverage analysis to support production, completions and new project requirements.
English spoken and written (85% Advanced).
CAS, Solumina, SAP expertise is required.
Proven communication, teamwork and negotiation skills
Project management (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) a plus.
APICS (Management and inventory control, Supply chain, etc.)
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree. 5 years of experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Position Purpose:
Management of human and material resources for production scheduling and material planning in each business unit.Ensuring efficient management of materials and production orders for our internal customer, then can follow established production schedules and ensure timely delivery to our final customer.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- As required. serve as back up for manager .
- Administration, supervision of tasks and performance of employees in charge .
- Analyzes and prepares reports, forecasts and databases for the production demand and control the performance of areas in charge .
- Manage and plan initiatives focused on optimizing inventory, material availability, delivery time, cost and budget control .
- Coordinates, attends and solve situations related to material procurement programs, necessary to ensure operation .
- Communication with customers through conferences and coordination of activities for the production transfer.
Additional Functions:
- Lead department improvements and project's .
- Suggests annual department objectives .
- Coordinates activities of people who are not direct or indirect subordinates .
- May coach/advice other level leaders .
- Negotiations within and outside the company, impacts the department or other areas .
- Mature-Seniors employee supervision .
- Formal teams .
- Mentor training Department. .
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Professional degree + APICS MRP systems management, Microsoft Office Excel, Power Point, Words, Experience in the position programmer or production planner.
