Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 8 years related maintenance experience and technical training. Well rounded aircraft and aircraft systems technical knowledge necessary. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

Position Purpose:

As an aircraft & aircraft system technical expert, assist in the training and development of company technical employees. As determined by facility objectives, goals and strategies, deliver both OJT technical and classroom training and instruction. Assist in the development of training plans in support of organizational business initiatives while at the same time maintaining focus on safety and quality objectives.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Establish oneself as the technical expert and floor level contact for technicians in training.
  2. Ensure aircraft safety standards are complied with, promote and mandate the practical understanding of working to a high level of safety and quality.
  3. Work to instill the values of personal accountability and integrity in the individual you are assisting/training.
  4. Guide technicians to ensure proper technical data is utilized on each task, each time. Assist to ensure understanding of task at hand and provide guidance to successfully carry out those tasks.
  5. Provide direction on maintenance task sign offs to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance.
  6. Ensure proper documentation is maintained in accordance with facility OJT program.
  7. Provide direction to ensure complete understanding and pitfalls of high risk tasks.
  8. Pass on aircraft systems knowledge and teach advanced troubleshooting techniques to lesser experienced technicians.
  9. Promote proper use and handling of tooling, PPE, and chemicals dangerous to employee and environment.
  10. Assist in the development of logical and progressive competency based technical training.
  11. Provide input and guidance on ERT and Master Technician programs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Must be able to read, interpret and explain maintenance manuals, IPCs, ASCs, CBs, CMP cards, engineering orders and blueprints.
  2. Must be able to troubleshoot systems during tests and perform systems and operational checks.
  3. Must be available to conduct training on any shift and travel as necessary.
  4. Must possess facilitation and presentation capabilities.
  5. Good organizational skills and strong verbal/written communication skills required.
