About Our Group

Our main team sits at our company headquarters in Savannah, Georgia and have Occupational Heath Care nurses at our different sites across the country.  Our nurses are responsible for supporting our employees and the organization when it comes to FAA and OSHA regulations at each site-specific location.

 

About the Role

The position is located at our Mesa, Arizona location. The work week is a Monday through Friday but may need to work outside standard work schedule for an emergency or event as needed. The day to day consists of managing workers compensation claims with a 3rd party administrator, FAA drug and alcohol testing, and eye exams, but is not limited to. Even though this position is a part of a larger organization, this role will be a stand alone at the Mesa site. Person must feel comfortable being autonomous and making decisions within the guidelines of the company.

Ideal candidate would have around 4-7 years of experience. Occupational nursing experience is a plus. Experience with FAA regulations a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements

Associate's Degree in health sciences or related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 4 years general nursing experience. Occupational Health experience preferred. Registered Professional Nurse in the State of employment.

Position Purpose:

Provide Occupational Health Care Services according to the Gulfstream Medical Program. Coordinate medical services required. for the safety and proper placement of employees, the treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries, and approved industrial preventative medical programs.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Determine real and potential health problems and hazards.
  2. Develop and implement programs to deal with identified health problems and hazards.
  3. Verify health programs comply with federal, state and local regulations.
  4. Evaluate and monitor outcomes.
  5. Develop professional rapport with employees and management.
  6. Promote and facilitate continuity of care.
  7. Assist the employee in selecting appropriate and cost-effective health care resources.
  8. Provide superior nursing care in a professional manner using all available resources.

Additional Functions:
  1. Provide physical examinations and classifications to assist management in the proper and safe placement of new and transferred employees and employees returning from leave of absence. .
  2. Provide for the timely treatment of work-related injuries; assists the Safety Department in administering Workers Compensation claims and observing Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations. .
  3. Provide guidance counsel and training to management and employees on medical matters, which affect efficient operations. .
  4. Maintain required. medical records in a confidential manner; prepares reports and statistics as required. by management. .
  5. Council and assist employees in identifying the need for and seeking outside medical assistance and to meet physical and emotional needs. .
  6. Maintain appropriate inventories of medical and first aid supplies safely and securely, and ensures that all required. licenses are up to date. .
  7. Administer the collection and processing of Corporate and FAA alcohol and drug program. .
  8. Explore with management ways to promote wellness. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred.
