Service Engineering Systems - Liaison Engineer (Farnborough) Tech Spec II (FAR) in  GAC Farnborough


Unique Skills:

Unique Skills required for Systems Liaison position: (Successful Candidate will be physically located in the Farnborough, UK repair station)

 

·         A fundamental understanding of aircraft design and construction principles. 

·         Substantial experience in the creation of engineering instruction based on reasoning from engineering first principles.

·         Must be able to prepare in-depth reports and troubleshooting instructions to support in-service aircraft with short return to service times.

·      Substantial experience with Electrical and/or Mechanical Systems troubleshooting. Must include experience creating new procedures that are outside the scope of existing published troubleshooting procedures

·         Responsibilities include performing both liaison duties and systems troubleshooting in support of “Green aircraft” repair, rework, and alteration.

·         Must have working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR - especially Chapter I, Part 25), as it pertains to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulation procedures and a willingness to support other certification related activities for both FAA and other airworthiness authorities.

·         Must have a basic knowledge of 14CFR 145 repair station activities and aircraft repair as performed per 14CFR43.

·         Must have significant experience with review of engineering drawings, specifications and standards as well as researching and contacting vendors for relevant system details

·         Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, must be a self-starter and comfortable working multiple priority jobs while balancing customer expectations.

·         Must have the ability to effectively work with and support a multi-discipline team of engineers, technicians, Quality Control, upper management, etc.

·         Must be able to change roles between systems review and troubleshooting work, liaison work and basic stress support while working to manage and maintain schedule on all related tasks

·         Candidates must have prior experience using 3D modeling systems (typically CATIA) to adequately review Engineering designs.

·         Must have experience working in a shop environment with technicians to resolve complex issues. 

 

Preferred Skills:

·         Experience creating 2D repair drawings, electrical installation prints, technical reports, etc

·         Experience with advanced avionics equipment

·         Experience working in an Avionics test lab environment

·         Prior Experience with Gulfstream aircraft

·         Experience with Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.

·         FAA DER or ODA unit member for 14CFR25 related aircraft systems

 

 

Assignments are executed under the supervision of the Savannah Service Center Engineering Group Head to meet Engineering, Certification, and Manufacturing schedules.

Analysis methods and design standards to be employed will be consistent with company standards and accepted methods.  Additional responsibilities are outlined in the job description and as assigned.

 


 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required. experience in specific technical discipline or broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.

  6. Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, and makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative .

Additional Functions:
  1. Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .

Other Requirements:
  1. Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.
  2. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
