About the Group
Reliability Engineering is a sub-discipline of Systems Engineering that emphasizes dependability in the lifecycle management of a product. Reliability describes the ability of a system or component to function under stated conditions for a specified period of time. The main objectives of Reliability Engineering are to apply engineering knowledge and specialist techniques to prevent or to reduce the likelihood or frequency of failures, and to identify and correct the causes of failures that occur despite the efforts to prevent them. The Gulfstream Reliability Engineering function is responsible for performing the required reliability analyses, for coordinating failure reporting and corrective action on developmental and in-service programs and tracking reliability performance of key in-service components.

Education and Experience Requirements
Job Description
- Share responsibility for reviewing and maintaining Reliability databases including preparation and presentation to internal and external customers.
- Offer reliability program technical recommendations on behalf of Gulfstream.
- Under limited supervision, develop and specify new aircraft reliability requirements in the associated Design Specification and Statement of Work (SOW) for new component(s)/system(s).
- Review supplier Request for Proposal responses for various aircraft component(s)/system(s) and assists in the supplier rating and selection process.
- Act independently to develop own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
- Develop standards and guides to support Reliability activities.
- Mentor other team members concerning Reliability processes and procedures.
- Actively seek and work to implement improvements in daily processes.
- Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of statistical analysis techniques such Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removals (MTBUR).
