Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering. Bachelor's Degree Chemical Engineering. Bachelor's Degree Aerospace Engineering. Bachelor's Degree Metallurgical Engineering. 6 years of experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Other PQL 027E . Other Full authority for M&P .

Position Purpose:

Ensures that all materials and processes used in Design and aircraft Manufacturing meet all the requirements from both Gulfstream and the FAA.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. M&P Engineers investigate material or processes discrepancies resulting from manufacturing operations and create repair dispositions .
  2. Provide support to Material Review Board (MRB) Engineers .
  3. They also investigate engineering design changes related to materials and processes conditions and prepare proposal for engineering change .
  4. Provide support to design engineers and follow up on design work all the way throughout closure .
  5. Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, operations and materials procurement departments related to specific materials and processes .
  6. Creation or revision of internal material or process specifications within the company.

Additional Functions:

  1. Able to perform tasks from previous level plus new tasks from current level .
  2. Provide technical training/mentoring to Engineers from previous levels .
  3. Demonstrate expertise and self‐sufficiency to perform M&P investigations to substantiate Design changes (ECRs/ISs) and MRB repairs .
  4. Obtain PQL027E full authority for M&P or demonstrate a significant progress on this accomplishment .
  5. Familiar with creating and revising materials and processes specifications, reports and test plans .
  6. Familiar with proper selection of materials and processes for parts .
  7. Interface with engineers and suppliers regarding technical issues concerning raw materials and parts fabrication .
  8. Develop training plans for M&P Department .
  9. Participate in department projects. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  1. Technical knowledge in chemical processing (chemical conversion coating and anodic coatings), plating and protective finishes, materials properties, sealing, heat treatment.
  2. Interpretation of technical specifications and structural blueprint models.
  3. Project management skills is preferred.
  4. Problem Solving Skills.
  5. CATIA V5 is preferred.
  6. Skills in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
