Associate's Degree in health sciences or related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 6 years general nursing experience, to include three (3) years Occupational Health and Nursing Management experience. Registered Professional Nurse in the State of employment. Other Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred.

Position Purpose:

Manage Delivery of Occupational and Environmental Health Care Services at a site according to the Gulfstream Medical Program. Coordinate the activities of Occupational Health Programs and communicate Gulfstream policy. Work with Corporate Medical Director to implement Medical Services Policy. Oversee FAA Drug and Alcohol program.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Develop and coordinate the occupational health and safety program in consultation with other health specialists and corporate management and coordinates goals and objectives of the occupational health program with the company corporate goals and objectives.
  2. Assess program needs in consultation with specialists in areas such as safety, industrial hygiene, medicine and others as appropriate.
  3. Oversee workers compensation cases.
  4. Manage specific occupational health and safety programs based on goals and objectives for the health and safety of the worker.
  5. Coordinate occupational health and safety nursing programs with other specialty areas of medicine, safety and industrial hygiene to ensure the highest level of health and safety for the worker.
  6. Oversee site FAA drug and alcohol programs.
  7. Consult with Human Resources on ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) issues.
  8. Oversee workers compensation cases of the injured worker by initiating appropriate medical evaluation, treatment and return to work.
  9. Facilitate site OSHA required. medical surveillance programs.

Additional Functions:
  1. Evaluate quantitative outcomes of employee health and safety programs. .
  2. Assume responsibility for adequate data collection for quantitative evaluation of program outcomes of worker health and safety while maintaining confidentiality. .
  3. Remain current with health and medical initiatives. Provide counsel and training to staff. Work closely with Corporate Medical Director to support site physicians. .
  4. Work closely with Managers to accomplish goals of worker health and safety programs. .
  5. Develop and monitor the budget process to provide for efficient and cost effective occupational health services. .
  6. Coordinate blood drives. .

Perform other duties as assigned.
