About the Position

Gulfstream Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineering is seeking a prime candidate to support our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) group.  This internship opportunity provides hands-on experience supporting the evaluation of aerospace components while working alongside experienced engineers and NDT specialists.

Typical Major(s): 
This position is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Materials Science, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical disciplines who are interested in learning advanced inspection technologies and aerospace manufacturing processes.

Education and Other Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher 
  • Must be available to work on-site in Savannah, GA during the Summer 2027 semester, beginning in May 2027.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 (without rounding); must be listed on resume.
  • Scope of Work:
        - Assist in the development of NDT qualification and test plans.
        - Review engineering drawings and technical documentation. 
        - Support defect placement activities used for inspection method qualification and validation. 
        - Gain hands-on experience with a variety of NDT inspection equipment and technologies. 
        - Assist in documenting test results and preparing technical reports. 
        - Work with engineers, technicians, and inspectors to support aerospace product development and certification activities.
     
    Desired skills:
    Foundational understanding in one of the following methods:
        - Ultrasonics
        - Magnetic Particle
        - Eddy Current
        - Penetrant Inspection
        - Radiography
        - Thermography

    Other Requirements:
    1. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher.
    2. Completion of sophomore year is required. prior to the internship start date.
    3. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (without rounding); must be listed on resume.
    4. Rotation Requirements: Juniors – 2 rotations; Seniors & Graduate Students – 1 rotation.
    5. Minimum duration: 12 weeks (summer); 14–16 weeks (spring and fall).
    6. Must be onsite; this is not a remote position.
    7. Must have reliable transportation.
    This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
