Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 7 years with Engineering certification activities and management of certification projects.

Position Purpose:

In a lead role, takes responsibility for the coordination of certification projects and works to resolve any procedural or certification issues that may impact issuance of MRA (Major Repairs and Alterations), STC (Supplemental Type Certificate), TC (Type Certificate) and/or other regulatory approvals.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Assumes responsibilities for specific STC/TC/MRA projects from inception to STC issuance. .
  2. Performs as a recognized leader and authority in ODA certification processes for STC/TC/MRA projects completion.
  3. Assists department manager/ODA Program/Project Administrator in resolving standardization issues across sites.
  4. Keeps abreast of changes to regulatory requirements and guidance materials and communicates changes in policies and requirements to engineering groups.
  5. Identifies and resolves procedural and certification issues related to STC/TC/MRA projects with ODA Engineering and Inspection Authorized Representatives. .

Additional Functions:
  1. When required. by the department manager/ODA Program/Project Administrator, assumes delegation of departmental/managerial tasks. .
  2. Mentors and influences others to grow the competency standards of the department. .
  3. Provides guidance and training to FAA Designees on ODA procedures and understanding the requirements of regulations. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Must be proficient in working with MS Office software.
  2. Strong background with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification processes.
  3. Strong background with Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR Part 21, 23, 25, 43, 91, 135 and 183), foreign regulations (e.g. EASA CS) and associated guidance materials.
  4. Must be very experienced in working with regulatory requirements.
  5. Must be experienced in working with local and foreign airworthiness authorities.
  6. Must possess excellent attention to detail and display the ability to effectively adjust to changing engineering practices and procedures.
  7. Must have excellent organizational and planning skills.
