Quality Control Editor Sr in  GAC Savannah

Unique Skills:

1. Working knowledge of technical content authoring/publishing systems equivalent to Contenta, SGML, and LiveContent. 2. Proficiency in editing for Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE1000) is desired. 3. Working knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecyle Management) system database equivalent to SmarTeam.

Education and Experience Requirements:


Bachelor's Degree in English or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Two (2) years of experience in publications production and/or editing required.

Position Purpose:
Under minimal supervision, review and edit technical information. Provide feedback to individuals, groups, and leaders responsible for the development, of technical information. Communicate non-adherence to current industry, company, and department standards and style guides. Participate as needed in the technical information sustaining processes. Maintain structure of revision review through data coordination and metric compilation, as well as communication throughout the process.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions: 1. Review and edit technical information for quality, technical accuracy, and adherence to current industry, company, and department standards and style guides. 2. Assist, plan and coordinate throughout the revision process to ensure all required. editorial and system administration files make final edit and meet established timelines and revision schedules. 3. Provide guidance and assistance to writers, supervisors and customers on issues pertaining to technical information quality and editing processes. 4. Work with outsource partners to ensure consistent quality and accuracy of technical information provided. 5. Edit, process, distribute and document weekly Advance Information Notices (AINs). 6. Assist management in ensuring that all new and revised materials produced are properly copyrighted and archived to ensure compliance with legal requirements and established corporate and department policies. 7. Coordinate, as required, with designated printing provider ensure accurate, consistent, and timely submittal of all new and revised technical information is achieved. 8. Provide feedback to management on changes and improvements to department technical information standards and style guides. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements: 1. Working knowledge of Contenta and SGML.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and HyperSTE. 3. Proficient and edit in Adobe Pro (paperless).
4. Working knowledge of Live Content, SmartTeam.
5. Familiarization of Aircraft Systems and Components.
6. Strong communication skills with internal / external customers.
