Job Description
- Reviews and approves group deliverables (certification plans, summary compliance reports, correspondence, noise data sheets, etc.) .
- Applies specialized certification knowledge to projects containing significant and uniquely challenging issues requiring highly innovative solutions for Gulfstream products and services.
- Performs regulatory gap analysis to assess certification issues for new or novel technologies.
- Leads solutions to issues that impact program success, innovative future concepts, state of the art technology, precedent setting process.
- Is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on the incumbent’s interpretation and advice.
- Develop and present briefings on certification strategy, status to company leadership and regulatory authorities, as assigned.
- Champion Gulfstream’s position in industry and/or regulatory committees as assigned to develop design guidance (e.g., MOPS) and/or regulations (e.g., advisory circulars).
- Provides formal and informal mentoring and guidance to other engineers.
- Authors issue papers and assists in preparation of applicant response.
- Recognized as an industry expert in certification.
- Applies SMS principles and best practices (including non-aviation) to enhance Gulfstream’s certification processes and product safety.
- Leads the development Industry authority of requirements for new/novel technologies. .
- Serves as an Industry authority in certification and validation activities. .
- Broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge in certification.
- Ability and initiative to apply broad and complex engineering solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Expert knowledge of FAA Orders 8110.4, 8100.15, and Gulfstream ODA Procedures Manual.
- Expert knowledge of foreign validation procedures, project classification and significant standards differences across a range of countries, and how regulatory differences may impact design and/or methods of compliance.
- Preferred to have delegated authority under ODA (Engineering Authorized Representative, Alternate Program Administrator, RFC Coordinator).
