This position is for the Customer Support Engineering Group. This group supports alterations of in-service Gulfstream aircraft systems including: avionics upgrades, satellite and ground based data communication , cabin data networks, cabin entertainment, cabin management, cabin reconfigurations, custom furnishings (galleys, lavatories, closets, etc.).
The Product Support segment is an exciting, dynamic, and fast-paced environment that requires flexibility, adaptability and quick-learning and communication skills to meet internal and external customers' needs.
Proactive communication skills are a must, as this position is relied upon by engineering, operations, and Gulfstream ODA personnel to define certification requirements for major alterations.
Candidate must have strong design engineering knowledge in electrical/avionics, or structures and cabin interiors, or mechanical systems. Having engineering knowledge and experience in multiple disciplines is a plus.
This position is responsible for creating certification documents including: Certification Plans, MRA Project Statements, Compliance Checklists, Flammability Reports, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Ground Test Plans, Airplane Flight Manual Supplements, etc. Preferred Candidate will have experience writing these documents.
This position requires communication and interface and coordination with Authorized Representatives of the Gulfstream ODA and its administrators. Experience working within an ODA or with the FAA is a plus.
The position will be expected to have a working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR – especially Part 25), as it pertains to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The preferred candidate will have experience showing compliance to these regulations.
